What's Better Than Having Fridays Off?

Getting paid on the Friday that you're off. :)

My Fridays usually consist of 100+ miles of riding as soon as I get up from bed. Seeing as I'm still slightly banged up from yesterday, you would think I'd sit this Friday out.

You'd think.

I couldn't stay off long enough from a bike, especially not on my time off, and especially not when the sun is shining out. So I suited up, hopped on the Mille, and off I went.

Today's route

I don't care how bad or how minimal a crash you just had was, your confidence will always be marred as soon as you go back out for the next proper ride. I knew I was going to be riding a tad more reluctant than I normally would, but there's also no better way to get your confidence back than to just get back on the saddle. Sure enough, the first few turns that were all too familiar for me seemed daunting, but it didn't take long for me to be back in the groove of things.

At the uncharacteristically empty lot at Four Corners.

Funny, I know it'll sound unsurprising, but I was actually more comfortable ON the bike than OFF it. Everytime I'd hop off the bike, I could just feel the bruises and the kinks on my body. On the bike, nada.

Topping it off by dropping by Belle's and walking Rusty.

I think I'm still more pissed at myself for what happened than I am depressed about the Mille having been rashed up. I'm getting over it though, and despite the minimal riding I can sneak in for this Memorial weekend, this should all be like a bad dream come next week.

Paz.
